Having fun testing out our new Canon Rebel that arrived as an early gift, I have taken some highlights from our Christmas tree (don't do too much judging, these are all pre-edit). This first one is a beauty from the Middle East. Dad brought these hand carved camels home to us after serving with the military in Kuwait for 18 months.
Imagine my delight when Dane pulled this out of his ornament box during our first Christmas. The frosted mirror effect is complete with felt backing.
Mom surprised us with this ornament a week ago while she was staying with us after Thanksgiving. I guess after living in 3 countries this summer, people are getting the idea that we like to travel.
This is part of a set of nativity scenes. I particularly like the shepherds because they probably had no idea that they'd ever end up being part of such an important event.
We brought back lots of these little wooden shoes after living in the Netherlands. I used to wear these all the time when I was little, and Christmastime always brings back lots of memories of living in Europe because we've kept a lot of the traditions that they do over there.
Dane's collection includes two of these beautiful eggs. I wouldn't normally make the association, but really there should be more symbolic correlation between Christmas and Easter.
I helped make these, so I guess that's why it's a favorite. I just love a good rustic Christmas scene.
Ohh, I love this!
