I just saw the best movie

When you're interested in economic development, you really have to protect yourself from the idea that helping doesn't matter. You have to confront the facts--that despite billions of dollars and the promises of governments, 13% of the world still does not have access to clean water and half of the world lives on less that $2.50 a day. Because it does matter.

I watched a film last night called Wasteland, that really was about so more than a debate on international aid, but definitely eased my mind on the questions I've had after a summer in Uganda. I don't want to preface your opinion about the movie by giving any sort of synopsis, but this may be my favorite movie of the year, so you would be foolish to not go find it and watch it.

  1. Thanks for the recommendation! Brandon and I are going to watch it together (maybe tonight!) next time you and Dane hit up international cinema, let us know! I haven't been since freshman year....
