Crafting Nancy

I don't remember if it was a roommate or a boyfriend who first called me 'domesticated'. Whoever it was just wanted to compliment something that I had cooked, but they should have chosen their words better (like knowing the difference between domestic and domesticated) because I was so mad. I think I hate the idea of being talented in the home because I fear that that means that I am not good at other things. I realize that I am wrong, so I guess I should just get over it, but the hard truth is, I actually really like to cook and sew.

Usually I just stick with these domestic talents, but I found myself with 2 days with no work, no reading, and no computer after my LASIK surgery, so I had to fill my time with something. I decided to try a little modge podge. The cover of my travel journal was all zebra stripes, so I decided to start with it.

The results were actually better than I expected, so I might have to do it again sometime. Maybe this will relax some of my feminist hangups.
