Koranda

Like the title? This blog marks the beginning of Dane and my crazy summer in Korea and Uganda, and I wanted to dedicate this post to all of the firsts that we've experienced in our first few days here in Seoul. A few of my favorites:

-My first time in a city that makes the top 10 list in size and population.
-First attempt/experience with a squatting toilet in the Beijing Airport.
-This is the first time having rice for breakfast
...and lunch...and dinner.
-First time making the acquaintance of someone who has been on the cover of the Ensign magazine. (Dane's old mission president is now the Seoul temple president and was very happy to see Dane again-See September 2010 issue).
-First time being in a country where I can't even begin to guess what signs mean.
-Definitely my first whiff of cooking eel.
-First chance to be apart of Buddha's birthday celebration.
-First experience living somewhere where I am above average in height (I keep standing next to men who I have a few inches on and don't know whether to laugh or feel great empathy).
-My first time having an old Korean woman offer to hang a Leonardo DiCaprio poster in the room she is renting to us.

So many gems, and I know there is only more to come.
