I am a long time fan of The Onion. My first run in with them was with my brother Jason. We were killing time before my Mom's graduation ceremony from nursing school and had found a copy on campus. We spent the rest of the night learning how the level of intoxication of a human being is directly correlated with the likelihood of having one's hand chomped off by an alligator. I guess I like their use of science and hard facts.
Another precious memory of the Onion was when I heard of the newest in Apple technology from my roommate Emily. Instead of a keyboard, this laptop just had an ipod wheel to control everything. I was impartial on the whole thing until I heard about it again that night from my current boyfriend. We watched the Onion video of the fake Apple convention and the tutorial on how it took an eternity to type anything. When she realized what she had fallen for, I think she gained a deeply rooted hatred of satire.
